FREE Summer Events and Activities for your Family!

Macaroni Kid

 At AMF, kids 15 and under can bowl for free all summer. Simply register and you'll get a weekly voucher for two free games per child per day through September 3. Shoe rental is not included.

Apple Retail Stores: Youth Workshops 

Bass Pro Shop: Free Summer Camp with crafts and activities for Kids and Families.

Brunswick Zone:
 Kids 12 and under receive 1 FREE game of bowling everyday when you sign up for the Brunswick Bowling Zone! 

Free Museum Weekends (Bank of America Card Holders): The first weekend every month. 

Home Depot Kids Workshops: Free Kids Workshops on the First Saturday of each month!   

Kids Bowl Free: Children whose age does not exceed a limit by a participating bowling center are eligible to register for 2 free games a day, all summer long. CLICK HERE for local participating bowling centers.

Target Sponsored Activities: 3rd Friday each month is Family Free Night at the Magic House. Free admission begins at 5:30 pm.


Concerts in the Park (St. Peters): Bring lawn chairs and blankets. You're also welcome to bring your own snacks and coolers, however a concession stand will be available for your convenience. Each concert begins at 7 p.m. Sit back and relax or get up and dance.

Music on the Meadows: Put your dancing shoes and get ready to rock with this fabulous lineup of bands for our 2012 season! As always for the kids (and the kids at heart!) we have complimentary balloon twisters and face painters so come on out and have a great time!

O'Fallon Jammin': Every Tuesday at the Civic Park Bandstand, 6:30 - 9:00 p.m. Admission and parking are free. Concessions will be available at nominal prices. Bring chairs or blankets for lawn seating, and enjoy the evening!  

Twilight Tuesdays: Pack up the family and a picnic basket and come hear some great music at the Missouri History Museum. Food and drink are available for purchase from Bixby’s. Make-and-take activities for children are offered beginning at 5:30pm through the end of intermission.

Whitaker Music Festival: Visitors are welcome to bring their own picnic supper, baskets, or coolers. Picnic fare is also available for purchase on site, including brisket sandwiches, hot dogs, cheese and grape plates, sno-cones, chips, cookies, beer, wine, and soda


Cinema on the Plaza: Outdoor movies are shown every Friday in June and September at the Old Post Office Plaza in Downtown St. Louis. Movies begin at dusk. Bring your own chair, blanket and food.

Frontyard Features: Popular movies are shown at outdoor locations throughout the St. Louis area, including the Metro East. 

Great Escape's Kids Summer Movies: FREE kids movies on Tuesdays Wednesdays and Thursday at 9:30am throughout the summer.

Movies in the Park (St. Peters): Free movies are shown one night a month at different locations in St. Peters.

Movies on the Meadows: Bring your lawn chair and come on out to Clocktower Plaza for a movie under the stars.  Enjoy free popcorn!  Drinks and candy will be available for sale. All shows begin at dusk, rain date TBA, movies subject to change without notice.

Regal Summer Movie Express: Movie goers of all ages can climb aboard the Summer Movie Express to enjoy a great selection of films. During this 9-week festival, participating Regal Cinemas, United Artists and Edwards Theatres will offer selected G or PG rated movies for only a dollar on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings at 10:00. A portion of proceeds from the Summer Movie Express will be donated to the Will Rogers Institute. CLICK HERE for a full schedule.

The Muny: Nearly 1500 free seats are available for every Muny performance in Forest Park. They are available on a first come, first served basis. The free seat gates open at 7pm. Shows start at 8:15pm.

Riverside Shakespeare: Riverside Shakespeare Theatre Co. will be producing the Saint Charles Shakespeare in the Park event sponsored by the Saint Charles City Arts and Culture Commission Park from June 21st to July 1st. Riverside will be performing William Shakespeare’s As You Like It, directed by Dr. Judy E. Yordon. Along with FREE admission, there will be FREE parking at Lewis and Clark Boathouse.


Barnes & Noble: Summer Reading Program! Read any 8 books and record them in the Reading Journal (PDF). Bring the completed Reading Journal to your local Barnes & Noble store. Choose a FREE BOOK from their selection on the Reading Journal list at the store.

Chuck E Cheese: Reading Rewards! Children can earn 10 free tokens every time they read everyday for 2 full weeks. Print your Reading Rewards Calendar then bring it with you to Chuck E Cheese for redemption.

iVillage PBS KIDS Summer Reading Community (Challenge Launches June 18): Daily emails with literacy-building tips and activities from experts at PBS KIDS and Scholastic. You’ll also get book suggestions and discounts, free downloads of PBS KIDS shows and a daily chance to win $1,000 and other great prizes.

Pottery Barn Kids: Children receive a prize after completing the recommended reading list featuring award-winning titles. Visit your local store starting May 17th to participate. You’ll get a bookmark to take home with you listing all the required reading titles. Once you’ve got those checked off, return to your local Pottery Barn Kids and they’ll have a basket of books that your child can choose from.

Scholastic Summer Challenge: Kids can create an online account and keep track of their reading minutes to earn prizes. As they complete weekly reading challenges on the site, they can spin the Prize Wheel to win digital prizes like book & audio chapters and virtual badges. There are also sweepstakes that kids can enter after logging minutes.

St. Charles County Library Baby and Toddler Summer Reading Program: "Baby Dreamers" Babies and Toddlers ~ Sign up at the library and color in a star each time you and your child complete an early literacy activity. You can help your child develop pre-reading skills through the activities you already do every day. Return completed sheet to the library to receive a special prize for your little star. August 4th is the last day to pick up your prize.

St. Charles County Library Children's Summer Reading Program: Sign up at the Library and read for fun anytime, anywhere to win prizes. Complete the program and you will be entered into a drawing and you may win $50.00 in cash. Read 100 hours and get a Star Reader yard sign. If you are in kindergarten - 5th grade and finish the program, they will let your school know YOU are a great reader. Adults, if your reader(s) complete the summer reading program, YOU may enter a drawing to win an eReader (Nook, Kindle or iPad)

St. Charles County Library Teen Summer Reading Program: Sign up at any of the library branches to participate in the "Own the Night" Teen Summer Reading Program! 20 hours of reading completes the program.  There are also half-way prizes, books awarded for book reviews, and you can go through again and again for more entry chances. 

Sylvan Book Adventure: Offers a free reading incentive program where kids read books, take a comprehension quiz about how much they remember and earn points based on how well they did on the quiz. They can then redeem those points for prizes.
